Endodontics in Hiawatha, IA
Apex Endodontics is a specialty practice that focuses on evaluating, healing, and preserving teeth with endodontic treatment. This includes root canals and apicoectomies. Our practice is located north of Cedar Rapids in Hiawatha, IA, where there are many wonderful things to see and do. You can spend an afternoon walking on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, catch some air at the AirFX Trampoline Park or Sky Zone Trampoline Park, and enjoy family time at Guthridge Park or Tucker Park. Hiawatha is such a lovely and welcoming city, and we love being a part of this community.
A root canal is performed to eliminate infected areas of a tooth and protect it from further infection. This procedure is minimally invasive and saves millions of teeth each year, making it a highly successful option for patients with infected dental pulp. Dr. Morio is specially trained to safely administer in-office anesthesia, which will ensure that patients feel comfortable and at ease during treatment.
This procedure carefully accesses the canals of the tooth through the tip of the tooth’s root (called the apex). It is performed when a nonsurgical root canal procedure cannot save a tooth and ensures that the tooth’s root does not develop any further infections or complications. An apicoectomy is done either using local anesthesia or IV sedation. Dr. Morio and her staff are specially trained in the safe administration of sedation and strive to make sure every patient feels relaxed and comfortable.
Dr. Kimberly Morio looks forward to improving the oral health of patients of all ages in the Hiawatha area. If you are in any of the following surrounding areas, please contact our office to schedule an appointment with our fantastic team.
